Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is issued by Man with Van Pimlico in accordance with our ethical responsibilities and commitment to fair, safe and lawful working practices. It sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and exploitation within our own operations and throughout our supply chains.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Man with Van Pimlico provides local and regional transport, removals and related services. Our operations rely on vehicles, equipment, storage facilities, and a range of third-party suppliers, including vehicle hire, fuel providers, equipment manufacturers, cleaning services and other logistics partners. We recognise that risks of modern slavery can exist at multiple levels of these supply chains, particularly where goods or services originate from high-risk sectors or jurisdictions.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
We maintain a clear zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour, debt bondage and any form of exploitation. This policy applies to all people working for or on behalf of Man with Van Pimlico, including permanent staff, temporary workers, contractors, subcontractors and agency personnel.
We expect everyone representing our business to act ethically, comply with applicable laws, and treat all individuals with dignity and respect. Any breach of this policy is regarded as a serious matter which may result in the termination of employment, contract or commercial relationship, and may be reported to the relevant authorities where appropriate.
Responsible Procurement and Supplier Standards
Our approach to procurement is guided by the principle that we should not knowingly allow modern slavery in any part of our supply chains. We aim to work only with suppliers and partners who share our commitment to ethical labour standards and compliance with modern slavery legislation.
Supplier contracts and arrangements are expected to include clear obligations to uphold fair working conditions, pay lawful wages, provide safe working environments, and respect fundamental human rights. We reserve the right to discontinue relationships with suppliers who do not demonstrate adequate efforts to identify and address the risk of modern slavery in their operations.
Supplier Audits and Due Diligence
Man with Van Pimlico is implementing proportionate due diligence and audit measures to assess and monitor the risk of modern slavery in our key supply chains. These measures may include requesting information on labour practices, reviewing relevant policies and training records, and, where appropriate, seeking independent verification or certification relating to labour standards.
Where risk factors are identified, we may undertake more detailed assessments or targeted audits. If concerns are substantiated, we will work with the supplier to develop corrective action plans with clear deadlines. Where a supplier is unwilling or unable to remediate issues in a timely and effective manner, we will consider suspending or ending the relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage anyone who becomes aware of concerns related to modern slavery, exploitation or human rights abuses connected with our business or supply chains to speak up. Concerns may be raised with a manager, supervisor or other appropriate senior representative of Man with Van Pimlico.
No individual will suffer retaliation, disadvantage or dismissal for raising a concern in good faith, even if it is not substantiated after investigation. All reports will be treated seriously, handled sensitively and, where possible, confidentially. We will investigate allegations promptly and take appropriate action, including involving law enforcement or other authorities when necessary.
Training and Awareness
We recognise that awareness and understanding are vital to identifying and preventing modern slavery. Man with Van Pimlico will provide relevant staff with information and guidance on the signs of modern slavery, the risks within the logistics and transport sectors, and the appropriate steps to take if they suspect any form of exploitation.
We intend to review and improve our training materials over time to reflect evolving best practice and any changes in legal requirements or industry expectations.
Monitoring, Review and Continuous Improvement
We are committed to the continuous improvement of our approach to tackling modern slavery and human trafficking. Our practices, risk assessments and supplier controls will be reviewed at least annually to evaluate their effectiveness and to identify opportunities for enhancement.
As part of this annual review, Man with Van Pimlico will consider feedback from employees, suppliers and other stakeholders, as well as developments in legislation and guidance. Updates to this Statement, our internal procedures, and our supplier requirements will be made where necessary to strengthen our defences against modern slavery.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Pimlico and reflects our ongoing commitment to operate as a responsible and ethical business.
